The 8th issue of Scientific Collection of Transcarpathian Museum of Folk Architecture and Life contains materials from the workshop "Museum and Tourism" held as part of "Culture Connect - Cultural Mobility in the Border Area" project.

Topics raised during the workshop formed the first two sections of this issue. They are about the history and prospects of cultural tourism in Transcarpathia, as well as the role of individual museums in this process. In addition, scientists, museum staff from Uzhhorod, Lviv, Kyiv, Dnipro, Kharkiv, as well as the cities of Satu Mare and Tigre-Mures (Romania) submitted their scientific research to the collection.

They are dedicated to the stock collections and expositions of museums, problems of preservation, restoration and conservation of museum objects, cultural and educational work as a form of preservation and promotion of cultural heritage, development of ethnographic science, traditional folk dwellings, crafts, calendar and family rituals, worldviews and folk knowledge, history of individual settlements and famous figures, manuscript sources.

Scientific collection is designed for all interested in the development of rural tourism, museum business, as well as traditional folk culture. Its materials are designed to help preservation, revival and further development of cultural heritage of Ukrainian people.
