Historical and cultural heritage is an important potential of the Carpathian Euroregion which foresees successful development of the strategic priority – tourism. Development of the Carpathian Cultural Route as integrated cultural heritage tourism product is important for cultural tourism development and local culture and preservation of the historical heritage in the border Region (Ivano-Frankivsk and Zakarpattia Regions, Ukraine and Maramures County, Romania). The development of Carpathian Cultural Route will be based on the results of analytical research, sociological survey, database, developed network of interested institutions and organizations for the establishment of strong partner connections within Carpathian Cultural Route, on the creation of a brand and marketing strategy for promotion of the Carpathian Cultural Route. It is foreseen to equip the digital tourist information points and boards. Conducting workshop and study tour for representatives of historical and cultural objects, tourism companies, SMEs, local government, NGOs, will build the capacity of representatives, help them to acquire basic knowledge and develop and implement activities of route development. The development of accessible materials can support understanding is necessary for the preservation of historical and cultural heritage in the Region. The project will assist the development of a wide range of promotional materials, namely catalogues, brochure, map, leaflets, memory sticks. The project also envisages development of joint Ukrainian-Romanian website and mobile application. Implementation of the project will contribute to the increase of visitors in the Region, development of tourism business across the route, improvement of the Region’s image as a region with joint tourism destination. The innovation of the project is that for the first time in Ukraine and Romania it provides the development of integrated cultural heritage tourism product “ Carpathian Cultural Route ”.
